OPDS Catalog 0.9 Specification Published

On 25 May 2010, the OPDS Catalog 0.9 specification was published and is now available at: http://opds-spec.org/specs/opds-catalog-0-9. This first formal release of the specification, timed to coincide with IDPF Digital Book 2010 and BookExpo America, starts our 60 day comment and review period before the stable 1.0 release, which is scheduled to be published 26 July 2010.

If you've found flaws with the specification or other work or have criticisms or comments, please add a new issue in the issue tracker.

Have questions about creating your an OPDS Catalog of your own titles, want guidance in implementing an OPDS Catalog reader, or want to contribute to the specification process itself? Please join the openpub discussion list and introduce yourself. We've already received a number of very helpful comments and questions from around the globe, but we're actively looking for input from the wider community during this period between 0.9 and 1.0.

We'd love to collect a set of links to reviews or comments on this 0.9 version (both positive and critical), so please leave a link in the comments here if you've published something elsewhere.

There has been quite significant growth in the number of new OPDS Catalogs appearing in the wild in recent weeks, but tools for easily creating an OPDS Catalog are just starting to be developed. What would you like to use to create your first OPDS Catalog?
